In honor of our long-standing commitment to promoting bright futures for children and youth in Metropolitan Chicago, Bright Promises Foundation is honoring and elevating the voices of the people who matter most to us – young people themselves.

Youth are not only capable of coming up with innovative ideas, they should be included as a crucial element of advocating for and implementing positive changes in their communities and beyond. To celebrate the power of youth and to amplify their voices, Bright Promises is offering full year of special events and programming, including the Elevating Youth Voices Video Series.

The Elevating Youth Voices Video Series is an ongoing series of youth-created videos that spotlight young people across Chicago who are creating positive community change. In their self-produced videos, youth leaders share how they would use a $10,000 grant from Bright Promises Foundation to address issues like youth homelessness, access to safe transportation,violence reduction and prevention, justice reform, workforce development and access to job opportunities, and more.

Five organizations will be selected to receive a $10,000 Elevating Youth Voices grant, which will be presented at the 150th Anniversary Awards celebration on Tuesday, October 15.

Rooted in the legacy of liberatory education, Chicago Freedom School-an intergenerational partnership-provides training and programming for young people of color and adults to build coalitions and develop strategies for systemic change and collective healing.

A Long Walk Home, Inc. (ALWH) is a Chicago-based national non-profit that uses art to educate and empower young people to end violence against all girls and women. Through arts, ALWH develops the next generation of leaders committed to gender equality and racial justice in their schools, communities, and the country-at-large. (ALWH) is a Chicago-based national non-pro􀂡t that uses art to educate and empower young people to end violence against all girls and women. The National Museum of Mexican Art (NMMA) stimulates knowledge and appreciation of Mexican art and culture from both sides of the border through a significant permanent collection of Mexican art, rich visual and performing arts programs, high quality arts education programs and resources and professional development of Mexican artists.

Kuumba Lynx is committed to the lives of youth using urban art and performance to cultivate strong communities built on a foundation of love.

The Northwest Side Housing Center's (NWSHC) mission is to identify and respond to the needs of the community by leveraging resources to improve the economic well-being and quality of life for residents in Belmont Cragin and the surrounding communities.
